Christine is passionate about supporting your child’s communication skills to their full potential. She qualified with a 1st Class Honours Degree as a Speech & Language Therapist from the University of Ulster, Belfast in 2004 following her 4 year degree. She initially worked in the Belfast area and in July 2007, relocated to Bristol and has been working in Bristol and surrounding areas since then.
Christine is currently employed by a local health authority as well as working as an Independent Therapist. She is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC), Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Association of Speech & Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP) www.helpwithtalking.com.
Christine has experience in working with children with a range of communication needs including:
• Speech sound difficulties including dyspraxia and speech delay/disorder
• Difficulties with using spoken language
• Difficulties with understanding of language
• Social interaction difficulties
• Difficulties with attention and listening
• Moderate to severe learning difficulties, including children with an Austistic Spectrum Disorder and Downs Syndrome.
Christine has experience in working in Children’s Centres, preschools, schools and special needs schools. She aims to work in conjunction with families, health professionals, preschool staff and teaching staff.
Christine can build upon any previous Speech & Language Therapy input from your local NHS Speech & Language Therapist. Therapy targets are tailor made for your child’s individual needs and Christine aims to make the therapy process fun and relaxed.
